Meet the team

Introducing Scot Montgomery, Maintenance Manager. Scot hails from Scotland and has been part of the team for 5 years. He loves working with great people who are passionate about The George. At times, the unexpected occurs and Scot is called in to save the day!

He’s here to help you in any way he can to make your stay more comfortable and to ensure everything is perfect for your next stay. Scot loves living in Christchurch, as there is always something new to discover; bars and cafes, driving through winding roads with snow-capped mountain views, walking tracks and wildlife parks. When given the opportunity, Scot enjoys making furniture, recently completing a barn shed with a mezzanine room that he has turned into a music studio catering for both of his passions.

Wine Of The Month

Our wine of the month is Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé. The Cuvée Rosé from Laurent-Perrier is one of the most recognised rosé champagnes around. Made with 100% Pinot Noir from 10 different "crus " (or villages), from the North and South areas of the Montagne de Reims, as well as the famous Cote de Bouzy. Elegant, mouth-watering and complex with sweet soft red fruits and sweet biscuit layers; sophisticated and magical.

It's back - George Bear and the 12 days of Christmas.

Summer Menus in 50 Bistro

Executive Chef Chanaka Jayabahu has just unveiled his Summer menus for us. We're sure you'll find something to tantalise your taste buds.

A 100% plant focused menu is also available.
